Since we are a water loving community, I decided to call this page "Safe Harbor" as there are people in this community who need links to places that are designed to offer help to those in need. I will post the places as I research them and find them appropriate but keep in mind that I do not have any ties to these groups and do not know exactly how they can help any certain person.
Housing Issues

Recently, a local college was hacked and information was obtained about students and employees
credit information. There were some helpful suggestions from the college administration about protecting your credit information from scammers.
If you have reason to believe that your information has been fraudulently taken, you may file a report with the following agencies who will scrutinize those who try to establish credit in your name.
Equifax (www.equifax.com)
P.O. Box 740241
Atlanta, GA 30374-0241
1-800-685-1111
Experian (www.experian.com)
P.O. Box 2104
Allen, TX 75013-0949
1-888-EXPERIAN (397-3742)
Trans Union (www.transunion.com)
P.O. Box 1000
Chester, PA 19022
1-800-916-8800
From what I understand it is free of charge and the report only needs to be made to one of the agencies. The protection will last for three months free of charge and at the end of three months, you may call to extend it if you think that is needed.
